SEE Mosaics VII - Programme

SEE Mosaic Meeting VII, taking place in Ljubljana from 13–16 October 2026, will bring together an international community of mosaic specialists under the theme “Reconsidering Protection of Mosaic Heritage in the Face of Climate Challenges – Conservation, Preservation and Restoration.”

The meeting will gather 66 participants from 14 countries—Austria, Canada, Croatia, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, and Spain—creating a unique platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among conservators, researchers, students, and heritage professionals.

Through presentations, poster and video sessions, a round table discussion, guided visits, and a field excursion, the meeting will explore innovative solutions and strengthen international cooperation in safeguarding mosaic heritage for the future.

The meeting is organised by the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia and the National Museum of Serbia within the framework of the regional project SEE Mosaic: Developing a Network of Mosaic Conservation Professionals and Promoting Mosaic Heritage in Southeast Europe. The number and diversity of participating experts have been made possible through the financial support of the Central European Initiative (CEI), which has been contributing to fostering regional cooperation, professional exchange, and capacity building through its continuous support of the SEE Mosaic project.
